The Big Band under the direction of Denny Wise strikes up!

Featuring some of the best young jazz musicians in London, Gershwin's 'Strike Up The Band' gets the journey of Big Band favourites off to a flying start.

The tribute to the greatest big band vocalists starts with a song from Ol' Blue Eyes. Sinatra's time with Tommy Dorsey's band launched him to star status before becoming one of the 20th Century's great icons.

Tunes made famous by Ella Fitzgerald, Count Basie, Glenn Miller, Nat King Cole, Buddy Rich, Peggy Lee and Bobby Darin chart the history of the Big Band era.

The show's finale features songs from the big band singers of the last 20 years. George Benson,Robbie Williams and Natalie Cole have brought the big band sound to new audiences and with one last chorus of New York New York the curtain falls.
